Chint Power Systems has successfully completed the grid connection of its 1.6MW/3.34MWh liquid-cooling energy storage project in Kumamoto, located in Japan’s Kyushu region. This advanced AC/DC-integrated solar-storage hybrid solution marks an important milestone in supporting Japan’s clean energy goals, enhancing both grid stability and local energy resilience.
The project brings together a range of cutting-edge features designed to maximize performance and reduce operational complexity:
🔹 All-in-One Prefabricated Design: Factory-tested and pre-commissioned, the system ensures rapid deployment and lowers installation costs by minimizing on-site work and space requirements.
🔹 Cluster-Level SOC Optimization: Intelligent battery management balances charge and discharge cycles across clusters, preventing energy losses commonly seen in traditional parallel setups.
🔹 Dual-Mode Resilience: Developed specifically for the Japanese market, Chint’s grid-to-island transition technology guarantees uninterrupted power during grid outages—an essential feature in a country prone to natural disasters. The system also enables daily peak shaving and valley filling, helping users reduce electricity costs while supporting grid load balancing.
