Prysmian Begins Record-Breaking Offshore Installation for the Tyrrhenian Link

Prysmian has officially commenced offshore installation for the Tyrrhenian Link, utilizing its state-of-the-art cable-laying vessel, Leonardo da Vinci. This groundbreaking project sets a new industry record as the first High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) cable to be installed at a depth of 2,150 meters, establishing new benchmarks in offshore power transmission.

The Tyrrhenian Link is one of Italy’s most critical electrical infrastructure projects, designed to enhance grid connectivity between Sicily and Campania. By reinforcing Italy’s energy transmission network, the project will play a crucial role in supporting grid stability, energy efficiency, and the country’s transition toward renewable energy sources.
