Jinko ESS Completes First C&I Energy Storage Project in the Netherlands

[December 4, 2024] – Munich, Germany
Jinko ESS has successfully completed its first European commercial and industrial (C&I) energy storage project in the Netherlands, marking a significant milestone in sustainable energy use for the refrigeration industry.

The project, developed in partnership with Watts In Store, features the integration of five advanced SunGiga All-in-One 215 kWh battery energy storage systems (BESS) at Koelbedrijf Cornelissen, a prominent Dutch refrigeration company located in Beers. By storing solar energy generated during the day, the BESS system powers the company’s cooling systems during the evening, enhancing energy independence, reducing grid dependency, and lowering energy costs.

Roberto Murgioni, Jinko’s Head of European ESS, highlighted the project’s significance: “Battery energy storage is essential for maximizing renewable energy utilization. We’re thrilled to collaborate with Watts In Store on this innovative project, which sets a benchmark for future energy storage deployments in Europe.”

Micha van Son, Manager of Operations at Watts In Store, emphasized the project’s local and environmental impact: “This project demonstrates the effectiveness of energy storage solutions in high-demand industries like refrigeration. Once fully operational, it will significantly reduce Koelbedrijf Cornelissen’s carbon footprint and operational expenses.”

This installation not only optimizes renewable energy utilization but also serves as a model for similar BESS deployments across Europe, as businesses increasingly prioritize energy efficiency and sustainability.
