ASC Global Inc. and Everpower Energy have announced plans to establish a significant clean energy operation in Chambers County, Texas, specifically at the Asia Pacific Opportunity Zone. The venture entails a $130 million facility dedicated to manufacturing perovskite solar panels with an initial production capacity of 100MW. This facility is set to create over 100 jobs and generate approximately $200 million annually. The project aims to expand in subsequent phases, ultimately establishing the first commercial-scale perovskite solar panel plant in the U.S., accompanied by a $1.6 billion energy storage system capable of generating substantial revenue.
The agreement was announced by Token Communities, the parent company of ASC Global Inc., and highlights a two-phase investment strategy. The first phase will involve a 150,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility specifically for perovskite solar panels. This facility is projected not just to sustain jobs but also to significantly bolster the local economy through its financial contributions. The second phase anticipates a major expansion, with an additional investment of $250 million aimed at increasing the production capacity up to 1GW.
In tandem with the solar panel plant, the initiative includes the construction of a $1.6 billion energy storage system facility covering over 1 million sq. ft. This facility will be equipped to produce 10 GWh of advanced battery systems, utilizing fourth-generation immersion liquid-cooling technology. It is expected to generate annual revenues reaching $1.2 billion, thereby enhancing the overall economic landscape of the region.
Dr. John Lin, Chairman of Everpower Energy, underscored the strategic benefits of the selected APOZ site, pointing to the advantages provided by the Free Trade Zone and Qualified Opportunity Zone designations. These benefits are expected to play a critical role in optimizing operational performance and financial returns. Dr. Eric Fang, Co-Founder of the APOZ project, also highlighted the strategic importance of Texas’s location within the Sunbelt, making it an ideal location for solar energy initiatives. Meanwhile, Ms. Tina Pei Wise, Director of Coordination, expressed enthusiasm for Everpower’s partnership and its commitment to advancing clean and renewable energy technologies.
