ASUNIM and its consortium partner achieved a significant success in an international tender organized by the World Bank, winning a $18 million solar energy and storage system project in Somalia.
The project will involve the construction of a 10 MWp Solar Power Plant (SPP), a 20 MWh Energy Storage System (BESS), and a 9 km long overhead transmission line (OHTL). ASUNIM will carry out the engineering and procurement processes together with its US-based and Somali partners. This investment will strengthen Somalia’s energy infrastructure while contributing to the country’s sustainable development goals and playing a critical role in regional energy supply security.
