GCL Perovskite Launches Largest Commercial Solar Module

GCL Perovskite has announced the launch of its first large-format perovskite solar module, which it touts as the largest commercially produced module of its kind. Developed at the company’s production site in Kunshan, Jiangsu Province, the module measures 2.76 square meters and represents a significant step toward the broader commercialization of perovskite technology.

The newly developed module has dimensions of 2,400 by 1,150 millimeters and is part of the company’s GW-scale manufacturing facility, which aims for a total production capacity of 2 GW, with the initial phase already operational by June 2025. Laboratory tests have demonstrated impressive efficiency figures, achieving 19.04% for single-junction modules and 29.51% for tandem variants. This advancement aligns with GCL Perovskite’s goal of catalyzing large-scale commercialization in the solar industry. Additionally, the company recently raised approximately RMB 200 million (around $27.78 million) in a Series C2 funding round, which will support the further development of its production capabilities.
