Germany Surpasses 100 GW in Cumulative Solar PV Capacity

Germany has officially exceeded 100 GW of total installed solar PV capacity, according to data from the Federal Network Agency (Bundesnetzagentur). With 1.12 GW added in January 2025—primarily from rooftop systems—the country reached 100.8 GW in cumulative capacity.

Although the monthly additions dropped 38% compared to December 2024, Germany remains on track to meet its 2030 target of 215 GW, which now requires adding 1.61 GW per month. Recent legislative updates under the Solar Peak Act aim to streamline permitting and digital processes to accelerate solar deployment.
