Osnatech has expanded its partner network by collaborating with module manufacturer Euronergy to enhance its offerings of lightweight, glass-free solar modules. This development allows solar systems to be installed on roofs and facades with limited load-bearing capacities, providing solutions for previously challenging installations. With an estimated 1.2 billion square meters of suitable space in Germany alone, Osnatech aims to install around 120,000 square meters of these lightweight modules by 2024, significantly contributing to clean energy generation and CO₂ reduction.
Euronergy joins Sunman as a new partner, allowing Osnatech to cater to the growing demand for innovative solar solutions on structures like industrial flat roofs, heritage buildings, and complex facades. The brand’s lightweight alternatives are set to revolutionize traditional perceptions of photovoltaics, typically associated with heavy glass modules. The partnership is designed to meet complex project requirements while maintaining strict adherence to safety and fire protection standards.
By the end of 2024, Osnatech projects that its lightweight installations will generate approximately 20 gigawatt-hours of clean electricity, equating to a reduction of over 8,200 tonnes of CO₂ emissions. According to Managing Director Matthias Mittelviefhaus, these lightweight modules can be integrated into nearly any roof or facade, thereby increasing the viability of solar energy in various contexts.
As the chief distributor for Sunman and recently Euronergy in the DACH region, Osnatech highlights the premium quality of its solutions designed for projects with demanding technical specifications. Euronergy’s offerings include modules in a variety of colors suitable for installation on listed buildings. Innovative installation methods are also showcased; for instance, specialized adhesives enable the transformation of foil roofs into solar power plants within three days, as demonstrated by a recent fast-track project in Fürth.
With these advancements, Osnatech reinforces its position as a leader in the integration of lightweight solar technology, paving the way for a sustainable energy future while maximizing the utility of available rooftop and facade spaces.
