SolarEdge is proud to support a groundbreaking 17MW floating solar power project in Taiwan, helping the country advance its environmental and renewable energy goals. This installation, built on a submerged basin designed for flood control, now also harnesses clean solar energy to maximize land and resource efficiency.
Floating solar systems often face challenges such as waves, dust, and bird droppings, which can impact module performance and maintenance costs. To overcome these issues, the project integrates over 10,000 SolarEdge Power Optimizers, ensuring maximum energy output and system reliability. Additionally, SolarEdge’s SafeDC™ technology enhances safety by maintaining low voltage levels during maintenance and reducing risks associated with wear, tear, and electrical faults.
As electricity demand rises and available land decreases, SolarEdge’s Floating PV solution presents a highly efficient and scalable approach to solar power generation, turning underutilized water surfaces into valuable clean energy assets.
