Fiat Unveils Electric Multiplina Concept Inspired By 1956 Microcar
The four-seat electric concept revisits the compact design philosophy of the original Fiat 600 Multipla for modern urban mobility.
Fiat presented its new Multiplina electric concept at the 2026 Paris Motor Show, showcasing a four-seat microcar that draws inspiration from the 1956 Fiat 600 Multipla. Measuring just over three meters in length, the vehicle aims to maximize interior space within a compact footprint, reflecting the automaker's historical focus on efficient urban transportation.
The Multiplina features a rounded body with short overhangs and wheels positioned at the corners to prioritize cabin volume. Its design includes retro elements such as horizontal front detailing and ribbed rear hatch accents, paired with contemporary rectangular headlights. The vehicle stands 1.4 meters wide and 1.53 meters high, offering a larger capacity than Fiat's existing two-seat Topolino model.
Built on an L7 heavy quadricycle architecture, which Fiat refers to as a Multi-Purpose Quadricycle, the concept is designed for short-distance urban commuting. While the company has not yet disclosed specific details regarding battery capacity or driving range, the vehicle is intended to provide a practical, space-efficient alternative to conventional passenger cars in narrow city environments.
The Multiplina is part of Fiat's broader micromobility strategy, which includes the Topolino and the three-wheeled Tris. Although the Multiplina remains a concept, its design highlights the potential for small-scale electric vehicles to address modern parking and traffic challenges. Production plans for the model have not been confirmed.
